Who These Lessons are for
Whether you’ve never picked up a bass before or you’re already playing in a band and want to tighten up your timing, I tailor every lesson to where you’re at. I teach teens and adults, from 13 up, and lessons work equally well on 4-string or 5-string bass, whatever you’ve got.
What a Lesson Looks Like
Bass lessons run one-on-one, either in my teaching studio in Dee Why or online over video call. Each session builds on the last: we work on groove, timing and locking in with the drums, then apply it directly to songs you want to play. Your first 45-minute lesson is completely free, no obligation.
Bass Styles I Teach
I cover fingerstyle, pick and slap technique, and we work through walking bass lines, scales and the grooves behind rock, funk, Latin, jazz and pop. New students usually start with locking in with a drummer and reading basic charts, before moving into more advanced techniques like slap, tapping and improvisation. If you already play, we’ll find the gaps and go straight to what will move you forward fastest.
