Who These Lessons are for
Whether you’ve never sat behind a kit before or you’re already gigging and want to sharpen your timing, I tailor every lesson to where you’re at. I teach teens and adults, from 13 up, and you don’t need to own a kit to start — you’ll be playing on a full setup in the studio from lesson one.
What a Lesson Looks Like
Drum lessons run one-on-one in my teaching studio in Dee Why, on a full Roland electric kit. If you’ve got your own kit at home and want to keep lessons going online between studio sessions, that’s an option too. Each lesson builds on the last: we work on timing, coordination and the grooves you actually want to play, with rudiments woven in only where they’ll genuinely improve your playing, not as dry theory. Your first 45-minute lesson is completely free, no obligation.
What You’ll Focus on
We start with timing and coordination, the foundation everything else is built on, then move into essential rock, pop and funk grooves, fills, dynamics and song structure. You’ll spend real time playing along to songs you know, because that’s what makes the skills stick. If you’re already playing, we’ll work out where your timing or technique needs the most attention and go straight there.
